A good sail cleaning product that has been tested in practice is hard to find.
The solution Ultramar Sail Cleaner was developed by Ultramar for professional cleaning of yacht sails. The product has been used in our sail laundry since 1998. Your sail will be clean and white again after soaking in Ultramar Sail Cleaner.

Safety Can be used safely with most types of sail cloth, from Dacron to the latest laminates. Do not use for nylon, spinnaker cloth and non-colourfast fabrics.
Fill a tub, bath or container with lukewarm water (30°C)
Add 20 grams (1 scoop) per 1 litre of lukewarm water
Fold or roll up the sail.
Let the sail soak fully immersed for at least 24 hours.
Then rinse with a soft brush and ample water.
If necessary, let the sail soak for a couple of days and repeat the treatment.
Afterwards, protect the sail with Ultramar Sail & Spinnaker Coating.
Do not use on spinnaker cloth. Coloured sails, UV strips and tell-tales may not be colour fast. Test first in a small area.
1kg = 50 litres (soaking can be repeated by adding extra hot water after 24 hours)
